.
.
.
First of all, this article is too long for me to translate properly @@
So I will summarize it short and please forgive my grammar mistakes 😅
.
I was in my alma mater, Kaohsiung Senior High School, to give a speech to the students.
I shared with them my philosophy of life and suggest them follow their hearts, live in the present moment, do not regret.
.
I told students who majored in music, to keep enjoy in music and to work hard with their beloved musical instrument, but be brave to quit if this was not what they did enjoy in. Maybe they were forced by the society, parents or anything. Now is the most early time to save the rest of theirs youth from such a burden.
.
I knew they did listen carefully, that’s why they asked me some questions.
Many of them got the same question, which made me astonished and a bit sad,
“Do you think being a dentist with high income is the key enabling you to be engaged in your hobbies?”
Does this question mean they believe one’s income is more important than what one is interested in?
.
I cared about this question so much for one week after the speech.
And I asked their teacher to pass on to the cute and young, and maybe perplexed, students as following,
.
1.I’ve seen many people who are happy and successful. They are devoted to what they love and get money for living from it. He or she might be rich or poor, upper class or lower class, depending on the definition of the society, but their contentment and joy cannot be defined.
2. There are a lot of people with high income. Take dentists as an example, is every dentist looking for what he loves? Or happy? Healthy? I find my happiness from my hobbies, that’s why I share this with you. Dentistry should be shared by some dentist who are enthusiastic about dentistry, not me. I shared my occupation to you only because you are facing the college entrance timing..
3. Money is a part of our lives, a little part of our lives. Not the whole life, and not necessary either. We are richer than many people, and at the same time, poorer than many people. I would rather compare myself with those poorer than me, because that makes me feel better, and feeling is the most important thing for a person. When I compare myself with those rich men, I am nothing, I can’t afford a villa, a personal airplane, a yacht.
If we have a lot of water, we can fill a big pot. If we have little water, we can fill a thin glass and reach the same height of water level, which represents the degree of contentment.
Make clear who we are, and take our responsibility, and enjoy what we deserve.
There are different people for different places, apartments, condominium, mansion, villa, however, the common point of them are being a nice and safe cozy home.
.
If you want to get on a cruise ship, you can earn enough money for the ticket or get the job as a waiter on the ship.
When I couldn’t afford the fee for equestrian class, I worked in the stable and took care of the horses for an afternoon to get the chance to ride the horse for half an hour
.
May you kind and brave, enjoy the life with no regret

Congratulations to Catholic High Alumni Singapore on their 50th anniversary! I was pleasantly surprised (actually stunned and terrified :)) when they asked me to join other Catholic High alumni to sing the school song for their anniversary video. It has been years since I attended morning assembly, and I still remember the words, though I was never a very good singer!
The alumni association plays an important role connecting former students with their alma mater. I hope the alumni will continue contributing to the school, as well as promote the values of care, honesty, and service. – LHL

From Victoria Street to Ang Mo Kio, the story of St Nicholas Girls School.
Last weekend, I watched a sincere and moving docu-film by Eva Tang “From Victoria Street to Ang Mo Kio” about CHIJ St Nicholas Girls' School. Had a better understanding of the challenges it faced when it was established in 1933 as a Catholic Chinese Girls school.
Happy to meet former principal Mdm Lee Poh See (who served from 1972 to 2000) and notable alumni Sharon Au 欧菁仙 and Rebecca Lim 林慧玲.
My connection is via my alma mater Catholic High which is the brother school of St Nicks.
The next public screening is at The Arts House on 15 Aug. Tickets from Peatix.

I got lots of requests for updating my "Day with AnViolin" so here comes my vlog!!!!
Now because of the COVID-19, everyone is required to stay inside and keep the social distance (which is sooo encouraging to avoid being exposed to the virus and slowing its spread and most important of all, wash your hands frequently!!)
I guess ya'll be sooooo upset for staying inside all the time so I decided to take you to my home town, Yilan.
First of all, Iet's go to my alma mater Luodong High School to share my experience and then I would take you to the behind stories of "the Wind Forest", where it's filmed at Luodong Sports Park.
What?? I haven't practiced my violin all day today?
That's because I am such a genius that I don’t need to practice at all (jk!)
It's because it would be boring for ya'll to watch the practice (it's really repetitive and monotonous).
So whenever the vlog is updated, it is about some interesting things happened to me ❤️
Comment below If you'd like to know more about the behind the scenes of my cover videos, or anything about my sunglasses lol
Should you have any request regarding cover songs, just comment below and let me know.
Also please share the video and subscribe to my channel https://bit.ly/2EsTGMQ.
Don't forget to click the 🔔 bell to be notified when my videos come out!
Another week, another cover. Let's goooo, hope y’all like this!
Visit me at Taipei Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Xinyi Plaza to enjoy more my live cover songs. Check it out details on my Instagram stories!

high school alma mater 在 pennyccw Youtube 的精選貼文
On a night where they honored their past,
the Houston Rockets got a pretty good look at the future.
The Rockets retired Clyde Drexler's No. 22 at halftime, then
rallied for a 109-106 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers behind
a career-high 32 points from Shandon Anderson and clutch play
from Kelvin Cato.
Drexler, a former University of Houston standout who was part of
the Rockets' 1995 NBA championship team, was honored in a
35-minute halftime ceremony that included former NBA greats
Julius Erving, Buck Williams and Kiki Vandeweghe. Jack Ramsay,
Drexler's first NBA coach with the Portland Trail Blazers, also
was at the ceremony.
"Growing up in Houston, watching the NBA and watching college
ball, I developed a real love of the game," Drexler said. "To
be able to play it here and now to have my number retired with
Rudy Tomjanovich, Calvin Murphy and Moses Malone, I never would
have thought that. I never thought about being on the court
with them, much less being able to play with them."
Also on hand were Drexler's mother, wife and four children and
Guy Lewis, his former coach at UH. Drexler, who became coach of
his alma mater last season, also heard kind words from Hakeem
Olajuwon, his teammate at school and with the Rockets.
"I am honored to stand here tonight with Clyde," Olajuwon said.
"I've watched Clyde from the beginning in college and we won a
championship together. But it's not just his game, it's his
character. He's a very complete person. It's a blessing for me
to be here with him."
The extended halftime seemed to bother the Rockets, who blew a
nine-point halftime lead but recovered with a 15-0 burst into
the fourth quarter that gave them the lead for good. Anderson
scored nine points in the run.
"I think it was a coincidence that I had that type of game on a
night his number was retired," said Anderson, who was 10-of-17
from the field. "But I've always liked the way he's played, how
he went coast-to-coast. In a lot of ways, my game is a mirror
image of his."
"Shandon was phenomenal," said Tomjanovich, the Rockets' coach.
"He was all over the place. Tonight he did it a lot of
different ways. When we're running and when he gets into the
flow, he's at his best."
Cato scored six of his 10 points in the final two minutes as the
Rockets held off a furious late rally by the 76ers, who went 1-3
on a four-game road trip, with each contest decided by three
points or less. Philadelphia fell to 11-4 in such contests.
Sixers All-Star guard Allen Iverson scored 40 points on 16-of-25
shooting. However, the team fell to 2-10 all-time when he scores
40 or more, including 1-3 this season.
"Iverson is something special," Tomjanovich said. "He made some
great shots tonight. I feel very fortunate to get the win. This
is a really big win against a really good team."
"It really didn't matter what we did," Iverson said. "They just
played excellent."
Despite losing rookie guard and leading scorer Steve Francis to
a strained left groin, Houston won for the ninth time in 12
games. Olajuwon scored 14 points, his best total since
returning from hernia surgery, as the Rockets had seven players
in double figures.
"I think it's just time and learning how each other plays,"
Anderson said. "We had a lot of new guys at the start of the
year and the biggest thing to learn is where the shots are going
to come from. I think the coaching staff has done a great job
of getting us position, both offensively and defensively."
"We're learning what it takes to win as a team," said Cato, who
had three of his four blocks in the final period. "At first, we
were waiting for the older guys to show us the way, but then we
all got hurt. Now we're learning how to play with one another.
The biggest thing is we've had an opportunity to practice with
each other. That has helped us come together."
A dunk by rookie Kenny Thomas, who had 11 points and 12
rebounds, capped the 15-0 run and gave Houston a 95-79 bulge
with eight minutes left. A jumper by Philadelphia's Theo
Ratliff, who tied season highs with 25 points and five blocks,
ended a scoreless drought of 5:04 and started a comeback by the
Sixers.
A three-point play by Ratliff cut the deficit to 99-94 before
Anderson found Cato with an inbounds pass for an alley-oop dunk
that beat the shot clock with two minutes left. Iverson made a
pair of tough baskets around a free throw by Cato, then drew a
foul with 47 seconds to go.
He made the first to cut the deficit to 102-99 but missed the
second. Ratliff ran down the long rebound and fed Iverson, who
missed a potential tying 3-pointer.
Two free throws each by Cato, Cuttino Mobley and Bryce Drew made
it 108-103 with 13 seconds to go. Philadelphia's Eric Snow hit
a 3-pointer with 4.2 seconds left and the Sixers fouled Cato,
who split a pair from the line, giving the Sixers a chance to
tie.

With the enthusiasm for A cappella, several students from National Pingtung Senior High School were deeply inspired by the instructor of the Ocean's sound male choir, Chin-Lan Huang, to form the A cappella vocal band, The Pure.
The members of The Pure were once of the Ocean's sound male choir. Some of them are now college students, some salarymen. They continue dedicating themselves to infinite possibilities of the vocal after graduation. What's more, they, enjoying singing, usually come back to their alma mater for practicing A cappella. The Pure's music involves various types such as Pop, R&B, Rock, Ballad, Classical, Dance and Rap.
In 2011, The Pure held their first concert in Pingtung Art Hall, impressing (so many) all the audience with their especially beautiful songs. Later, they won "the Bronze Medal Award" and "the Best Beat Box" in (the) Taiwan International Contemporary A Cappella Festival 2011. Besides, they went to the university campus in Pingtung for popularizing A cappella. The next year, more concerts were successfully held in Chiayi, Tainan, Tungkang and Pingtung, their hometown. Many people were impressed by The Pure's great performance again and again.
Recently, The Pure released the first EP titled "Pure". Hopefully, it cna bring the public more shocked, attractive and fabulous performance.
